How can we make cars run on corn? How can we create more African farms to help end starvation and world poverty? Agronomists are the resourceful scientists who work to discover and invent advanced ways to make better use of soil, plants and other organic materials. You’ll help farmers use their land more effectively and show them ways to lose fewer crops to diseases and infestations. Agronomists also study plant genetics and work on creating entirely new plants that will produce new fibers, new foods and other new resources that will benefit both our lives and the life of our planet.
education requirements
Bachelor’s in Agronomy or a related area, such as Soil Conservation, Agriculture, or Agricultural Engineering
