Want President Obama to speak at your high school graduation? Prove that your school is making “great strides on personal responsibility, academic excellence and college readiness,” and that may just become a reality!
The White House and the Department of Education have invited public high schools across the country to compete in a Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge to bring President Obama to their graduation. Applications submitted by Monday, March 15th at 11:59 pm EST will be narrowed down to six finalists by the White House and DOE, and the public will vote for the top three. Finally, Obama himself will choose the winning school to visit and send off the class of 2010 with a commencement address.
Each public high school is allowed to submit only one application, which must be completed by students and submitted by the school’s principal using the Commencement Challenge Application Form.

I think the president should come and give a speech to the graduation class of 2010 at New Madrid County Central High School. After everyone graduate some people just don’t care about the rest of there life they start living with other people, they start relying on other people to do things that they should do for themselves. I attend Banneker High School in College Park Ga. and I do believe Obama should speak at my schools graduation. My school is a school with many disruptive students and has a rumor going around saying that we want have any students graduate from our school and become somebody. Although im not graduating this year because im only in the 9th I would think it would be cool if you came and spoke with the students who want to be somebody but their afraid of their feelings and many other things.
