The Communications Director for a politician manages the flow of information to the public through television, radio, print and digital media. You’ll be responsible for directing strategic planning, the development of key themes and messages, and the daily implementation of a multi-media communications program to inform the nation, and possibly the world, of the your boss’s actions, initiatives and positions. You’ll work with all the ranking members of the staff to keep messaging consistent and clear. On call 24 hours a day, the Communications Director also manages a large team that includes the press secretary.


education requirements

Bachelor’s in English, Communications or Journalism, with additional education in Political Science, Economics and History helpful
