job description
Building a dam. Logging a forest. Farming salmon. Getting rid of an invasive species. None of these things happen without an Ecologist evaluating the environmental impact. Ecologists care about nature and discover smart ways to preserve it, which is something that’s been more and more difficult to do in our modern world. Mostly this means working in the field conducting experiments and analyzing how variables like humans, climate, rainfall and pollution affect a certain region or species. At the end of the day, your main goal is conservation. It will be your job to study how people, plants and animals can all live together on our planet.
