When a life-threatening emergency happens outside of a hospital, EMTs maneuver through the city to be the first heroes on the scene. As an EMT, people’s lives will depend on your expert care and advanced medical skills. You’ll assess the patient’s condition, give them emergency care on the spot and rush them to a hospital. Since everything that happens in the home and on the streets falls under your jurisdiction, you never know what a call from dispatch may lead to: an automobile accident, heart attack, childbirth, seizure or gunshot wound. It could be anything, and on any given day you could be saving lives.
