Interpreters facilitate communication between the speakers of different languages. Your services will be needed by dignitaries and government officials, the United Nations, international corporations, marketing companies, local and national television networks, or hospitals. You will serve as a liaison between government officials, business partners, as well as patients and doctors. You’ll have the potential to travel the world, and could even find yourself playing an important role in peace talks between two opposing countries. You’ll need to be a good listener and an accurate speaker. Learning difficult, lesser known, and politically popular languages can give you an edge in this field.

Bachelor’s, with a focus on the language you will be translating, plus Study Abroad experience
