Melinda Gates on Education Reform

Today’s Washington Post contains a column by Melinda Gates, who, along with her husband Bill Gates, has long been an advocate for education reform.

In this article, she voices her optimism in favor of the government’s Race To The Top program, and zeroes in on the importance of teacher quality.

“If all the stakeholders — the federal government, state governments, school districts and teachers — continue to coalesce around the goal of having an effective teacher in every classroom, then public schools will start to deliver on their core promise. They will prepare every single American to succeed in college, their careers and their lives.”

    4get classrooms. these new kids can learn more from a cellphone with a good data plan and good directions on where to find information their parents don’t know is even available online!
