job description
PR Managers are experts in public relations. You’ll need to be media-savvy and well-versed in pop culture and current events. You’ll cultivate relationships with journalists at magazines, networks and web sites to get free and favorable publicity for your client, especially when the public perception of your client is less than favorable. You’ll supervise a staff of publicists and oversee all communications. You’ll also organize special events—from press conferences to Twitter blasts to charity fundraisers. Managing your client’s image can be a 24/7 job, but depending on who they are, you could find yourself in some exciting and glamorous situations.
