Education Matters Scholarship // Unigo

The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, college student, or graduate student with a 3.0 or higher who is currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year degree program at an accredited college or university in the United States. The candidate must submit a 500-750 word essay response to the prompt: Share a time where you felt like you were being taken advantage of as an employee, intern, or group member. This scholarship is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a University or High School, and have plans to attend a University. The scholarship is meant to help a deserving student with scholarship funding who wishes to start their own business in the future.

Dennis Etchison Young Writers Scholarship // Horror Writers Association

Amount: $500

Deadline: August 1, 2023

This award is available to high school students that are interested in writing horror and dark fiction. Applicants must provide a selection of their work (at least 1 completed short story over 1,000 words, 3 chapters from a novel in progress, or 4 poems), at least one letter of reference by their instructor(s), and a description of their goals with an education plan for use of the award.

Fight for Freedom Scholarship //J. Ryan Brown Law

Graduating high school seniors and college students are eligible for this scholarship. To be considered, applicants must write a 700-1,000 word-essay to answer the following prompt: "Share with us a bit of legislation or regulation that has been a recent controversial topic. Explain why you feel this piece of legislation or law should either be abolished or kept in place. We want to hear how this piece of legislation has personally impacted you."

Community Activist Scholarship //Bold.org

This award aims to support students who strive to positively benefit their community and the lives of those around them. Any student who is passionate about helping their community may apply for this award. To apply, students will need to share what they do in their local community to bring about positive change.

Future Leaders in Technology Scholarship // Bold.org

The scholarship is open to high school students who plan to pursue a degree in computer science, electrical engineering or data science. You must also be a member of an underrepresented group, including: Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian or Native American, LGBTQA+, and Women. This scholarship is available to full time college undergraduate students across any field of study. Must write a 500 word essay on First Generation status (if applicable), plan for completing your undergraduate degree, and how dance has impacted your life.
